Lower Eastern Region Engagement | 13th April 2026 | Machakos

The Principal Secretary, Joel Arumonyang, convened Heads of Departments and regional officers from Kitui, Makueni, and Machakos, setting a clear strategic direction for strengthening execution and institutional repositioning within the State Department for Public Works.

The PS directed officers to rapidly align with departmental priorities, enhance efficiency in service delivery, and uphold strict cost discipline. He emphasized the urgent need to reclaim the Department’s core mandate in public infrastructure delivery, while ensuring full compliance with safety and security standards.

Officers were further tasked to conduct comprehensive asset inventories, strengthen mentorship and capacity building, and elevate the Department’s visibility through quality outputs and proper documentation of projects.

The engagement reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to restoring its leadership role in national development through professionalism, accountability, and results-driven performance.
